Sandakphu is a beautiful location situated near Singalila National Park in West Bengal. It is the highest peak of West Bengal and is best known for its beautiful views from Sandakphu.

Sandakphu Phalut Trek is known as 'Trekkers Wonderland', but after the roads being built upto Gairibas, it has become quite famous for ordinary travellers as well. While on this trek, you will witness four massive peaks Mount Everest, Kangchenjunga, Lhotse, and Makalu.

On your entire trail, you will be around Singalila National Park and witness a wide diversity of flora and fauna on your way.

You can visit the Sandakphu trek for about eight months a year. Except for Monsoon from May to August, Sankaphu is really beautiful around the year. But due to heavy rainfall, the roads are closed in the monsoon season. Here is a look at how Sankaphu looks in different seasons.

  • In December: Get the unhindered views in the season and experience moderate snowfall and enjoy the weather.
  • In January: As it is situated at a lower altitude as compared to the peaks of the Western Himalayas, the angle of the sun and the eastern Himalayas makes it a perfect place to visualise colourful skies at dusk and dawn.
  • In February: In this month, Sandakphu provides the best mountain views and as the rain recedes and has wiped away all the dust and pollution from the atmosphere. Autumn in Sandakphu is known for golden colours, especially during sunrise and sunset.
  • In March: As spring approaches, the entire place gets covered with colourful flowers, and you will get a colourful experience.
  • In April: In the initial weeks of April, Sankaphu is beautiful, but with time, rain becomes more prevalent, making it difficult to carry on the trek.

So you can visit Sandakhpu as per your free time and enjoy yourself in the lap of mother nature. The trek is not difficult, and you can have the best experience.
